Nanterre
A large town bordering the western edge of La Défense, home to a major university and a genuine mix of modern development and older, more traditional neighbourhoods.
Why it's different here
Nanterre is one of the bigger towns in the western suburbs, and it shows in the range of building types — modern development close to La Défense and the university, alongside older residential streets that reflect the town's earlier, more industrial history. It's a genuinely varied town rather than a single consistent character.
Who calls us here
With a major university based here, we hear from students and staff dealing with shared building issues, plus residents across Nanterre's older and newer residential areas.
Dispatched from Paris
We're not a Paris-only service that reluctantly covers the suburbs — Nanterre is part of our regular coverage area, with plumbers who know the town, not just the route in from central Paris.
Good to know
Shared student flats here see heavier use than average, which shows up as more frequent blocked toilets.
Development closest to the business district runs on genuinely contemporary infrastructure.
Away from the university and La Défense, expect more typical ageing hot water systems.
Being one of the bigger towns in the area, we cover Nanterre throughout, not just the streets nearest La Défense.
